Placing the tourbillion out on the dial is the latest trend in timepiece artistry. Most luxury houses specialized in the design and production of watches have recently launched models that standout due to the fact that anyone can now admire the intricate mechanism that makes the watch show the time so precisely.
This Chanel watch follows the trend but also marks a premiere (hence the name of the timepiece: Premiere Flying Tourbillon): their tourbillion is only anchorated at the base, and as a result, the mechanism seems to be floating on the black ceramic dial. The designed is signed by the famous Swiss expert watchmakers Renaud & Papi, who took inspiration from the Chanel no 5 perfume bottle. It is beautiful and specialists agree: the Horologerie de Geneve declared this watch the best ladies watch in 2012.
The hour and minute hands are diamond encrusted. The white gold case is embellished with 39 blue or pink sapphires. Perfect, right?
Now here comes the bad news: only ten Premiere Flying Tourbillon (five pink and five blue) will be produced, because they are part of a limited edition.
